Explore Local Trails for Walking, Running, or Bodyweight Circuits
Looking to get moving on your own time? Here are a few scenic spots we love around Dayton and Kettering:
Cox Arboretum MetroPark – Great for walking meditations, light jogs, or stretching on a bench post-walk
Iron Horse Trail – A peaceful, shaded trail perfect for long walks or interval runs
Delco Park – Lots of space for bodyweight workouts, walking loops, or circuit training
Sugarcreek MetroPark – Ideal for hiking and breaking a sweat on varied terrain
Bring a friend, a set of resistance bands, or even just your own bodyweight — and you’ve got a workout with a view.
Bodyweight Outdoor Circuit (No Equipment Needed)
Short on time? Here’s a quick, do-anywhere circuit you can do at the park, your backyard, or even the driveway:
20 bodyweight squats
15 push-ups
20 walking lunges (10 each leg)
30-second plank hold
20 mountain climbers
Repeat for 3-4 rounds and you’ve got yourself a full-body summer burn.
Don’t Forget Your Essentials
Outdoor workouts are amazing — but make sure you're prepared:
Wear sunscreen and breathable clothing
Stay hydrated (especially on hot, humid days!)
Bring a towel or mat if you’re doing exercises on the ground
Avoid peak sun hours (try early morning or late evening)
