Summer is supposed to be relaxing — and it should be. But let’s be honest: between vacations, BBQs, and sweltering heat, it’s easy for your fitness routine to take a backseat. Here’s the good news: You don’t need to go all in to stay on track. With a few smart strategies, you can enjoy summer and keep making progress.
Adjust Your Schedule — Don’t Abandon It
If your usual workout time doesn’t work during summer (kids are home, later nights, etc.), shift it! Early mornings or quick mid-day sessions can keep you in rhythm. Our group fitness schedule has options that fit busy lives — check it out HERE.
Make the Most of Quick Workouts
You don’t need an hour to break a sweat. A focused 20-minute session can be just as effective — especially when done consistently. Show up, move your body, and get on with your summer plans.
Stay Hydrated & Eat Well (Most of the Time)
Hot days = more sweating = more water needed. Staying hydrated and fueling your body with fresh, colorful foods can make a huge difference in energy levels and motivation.
Plan for Travel
Going out of town? Toss a resistance band in your bag, go for long walks, or check for a drop-in workout wherever you’re visiting. Movement doesn’t need to stop — it just might look a little different.
Need a Cool-Down? Come to the Gym.
Skip the heat and come enjoy a workout in the A/C. Our gym is cool, welcoming, and full of motivation. It’s the perfect way to beat the heat and the summer slump.
